Formats Explained
Best Ball
Both players play their own ball and the lowest score per hole will be used for team’s score. For example, if player 1 takes 4 shots and player 2 takes 5 shots, the team would take a 4 on that hole.
Alternate Shot
Players alternate taking shots until ball is holed and alternate tee shots. For example, player 1 will tee off on all odd numbered holes and player 2 will tee off on all even numbered holes then they will alternate taking shots until the ball is holed with the number of strokes taken being their score for each hole.
Daytona
Both players play their own ball and their score for the hole is the double digit score their scores make when being combined always using the lower number first. For example, player 1 takes 4 shots and player 2 takes 3 shots, their score for that hole would be 34.
Scramble
Both players tee off, they decide which shot is the best and they both play their next shots from that location. They continue playing from the best location until 1 ball is holed. The number of locations played from is their score for that hole.
Total Score
Both players play their own ball and the combination of their scores are used. For example, if player 1 takes 5 shots and player 2 takes 4 shots, their score for that hole would be 9.
Mulligan
This is not a format, but each team will get to choose their worst performing format with the goal of replacing the result in that format to improve their overall season standing.
